Well the weather outside was frightful... cold with snow on the ground and the gusting wind making it even colder. We were very comfortable on Mary's enclosed porch! There were only three of us this day... Mary, Marion and myself. We had a great time chatting and working.... Marion did two watercolors of the same view... looking towards Sand Beach with the Precipice in the background. Mary did two watercolors of the view from the porch. I did something unusual.... palette knife in oil using complimentary colors as an underpainting.... |
Okay... here is the first stage a la Lois Griffel (I think) with almost the view next to it. I think the foundation colors are very interesting. I also had fun using the palette knife only. It will take some getting use to but it was exciting using such different colors! Stay tuned for the rest of the story... |
